Why Teambuilding and Youth Leadership in HIV/AIDS work?

A team, in its simplest definition, is a group of people with a common goal. In the context of young people working in a team, it is often seen that young people are energetic, full of ideas & willing to deliver to their best of their abilities. This is usually applicable to student councils, peer counsellors, youth committee of an organisation or programme, youth clubs or youth organisations, uniformed groups etc.

Yet, it is also often overlooked, that these “potentials” skills are not tapped into & are only asked to go into their field of leadership with limited to none of the skills in managing a team. This can lead to the lack of sustainability of leadership, frustration of young people, dominance of current leaders, lack of youth-adult partnership & eventually, disempowering (instead of empowering) young people in today’s world.

It is hoped that Training on Teambuilding and Youth Leadership for BDAIDSCOUNCIL Members (#TTYLBDAC) will be able to educate & empower the young people in delivering their potentials & enhancing their aspiration to work better together in a team.
